Arrival in Milan

Welcome to the fashion capital of the world, Milan! Upon arrival at the jewel of Northern Italy, you are met by your private driver at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax after the trip.

Day 2
Milan Sightseeing & the Last Supper

After fueling up on breakfast at the hotel, you meet your private guide and set off on a 4-hour walking tour of Milan. Use the chance to get better acquainted with the history of the city, as well as its title of the fashion capital of the world. 

Start by visiting the beating heart of the city, Piazza del Duomo, and marvel at the iconic Milan Cathedral, that took around six centuries to build! Continue later through the marvelous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele to one of the most famous opera houses in the world, the La Scala Theater.

After exploring the unparalleled theater and familiarizing with its history, visit the picturesque Brera district to delve deeper into the history of the city itself. Wander around the public areas and listen to the stories of its owners from the 15th century. 

The highlight of your tour today is the iconic painting* "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci. The unparalleled masterpiece is located in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, one of the major points of interest in Milan.

Once the tour is over, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore individually or unwind after an eventful day.

*Please note: the Milan Cathedral is a sacred religious site thus the dress code for visiting it is applied just as when you visit any church in Italy: no shorts – no uncovered knees and shoulders, no backpacks.

*Note: viewing the Last Supper is available only with a group. Your private guide waits for you outside while you have a visit in the church which takes 15 minutes as per regulations. The tour is not available on Mondays.

Sforza Castle & Leonardo's Machines Museum

After breakfast in your hotel, you are met by a private, professional guide and set off to explore the significant works of Leonardo Da Vinci in the bustling Italian city. The first stop on your itinerary today is the fortress of Milan, the Sforza Castle, as well as Sala delle Asse. Recently restored, it was reopened in 2009 to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo Da Vinci.

You make your way later to get acquainted with the instruments used, as well as the history and motive behind different masterpieces. You also get the chance to witness the last unfinished work by Michelangelo, located in the Sforza Castle, with your own eyes. In addition to that, you marvel at the emotionally-charged, renowned sculpture of Pieta.

Continue then to one of the most ancient cultural institutions in Northern Italy, Ambrosiana, housing numerous manuscripts (Codice Atlantico) of projects and drawings of Leonardo. While on the site, you also have the chance to explore precious paintings by the artist, including the world-known "Portrait of a Musician".

Regain your strength during a lunch break and tour the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum together with a museum guide. During the 1,5-hour tour, you see models built back in the 1950s based on the sketches and designs of Leonardo. The professional guide walks you through the mechanisms behind the machines and explains their original purpose. After the guided tour, you have time to look around the museum individually.

Once the journey is over, you are taken back to the hotel and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 4
Departure to Florence & Da Vinci Museum Tour

Wave Milan goodbye and hop onboard the train taking you to the birthplace of Renaissance, Florence! Upon arrival, you are met by a private driver and taken to your centrally-located hotel for check-in. 

Today you set off to discover the authentic collections of the Da Vinci Museum during a 1-hour guided tour. The interactive displays broadcast the extraordinary world of the renowned artist, and exhibit real machines designed by Leonardo and assembled for the exposition. The museum also boasts some of the most iconic masterpieces, such as the Mona Lisa, the Last Supper, and the Annunciation to the Lady with the Ermine, which you can see from up close and in high-resolution which is not possible to do in their original locations.

After the tour in the museum, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Florence Sightseeing & Uffizi Gallery

Set off to explore the most iconic landmarks in Florence while on a 3-hour walking tour with a professional private guide. 

You start your tour by visiting the renowned Piazza del Duomo, housing the iconic Florence Cathedral, as well as Piazza della Signoria - the main square in the city. You then continue through the heart of the historical center and marvel at the attention-worthy sights along the way, such as Piazza della Repubblica and the Strozzi Palace. You also wander around one of the most beautiful streets in Florence, the nearby Via Tornabuoni.

After crossing the Arno River on Ponte Vecchio, you make your way to the Oltrarno district, filled with not only monuments but authentic crafts to admire as well. Visit the shops of local craftsmen to get acquainted with their art forms before moving on to marvel at the Santo Spirito Church and Convent, built for the Augustinians. Talking about art, this is the part of the city, where you can find the early works of 17-year-old Michelangelo. 

Enjoy a lunch break and fuel up before touring the outstanding collections of the Uffizi Gallery. During the 3-hour private tour, you witness the magnificence of such masterpieces as "The Birth of Venus" by Botticelli, "Medusa" by Caravaggio, and "Madonna of the Goldfinch" by Raphael. 

In addition to that, you also have the chance to marvel at the artwork of young Leonardo Da Vinci, painted before moving to Milan in 1482. While in the hall, dedicated to Leonardo, you discover the "Adoration of the Magi" and "Annunciation". Exploring the Birthplace of Da Vinci

Today you set off to explore the birthplace and legacy of Leonardo Da Vinci while on a 5-hour private tour to Vinci, together with an experienced guide.

You start your tour with a display of models representing his inventions in the Museo Leonardiano, located inside the Castello dei Conti Guidi, and the Palazzina Uzielli in Vinci. It is undoubtedly one of the most extensive collections, depicting the creations of Leonardo Da Vinci. 

After touring Vinci, you make your way to the actual house of Leonardo in the village of Anchiarno. While in the area, you enjoy a light lunch, as well as some picturesque views of the countryside and a wine tasting at one of the local wineries.

Once the tour is over, you are transferred back to your hotel in Florence and have the rest of the day free.

Departure

What To Know

  • You can expect to find some shops and restaurants closed from 1-4 p.m. as it is "Riposo" time, Italy’s midday siesta. Most places will be also closed on Sundays
  • Most restaurants won't open until 7 p.m. or later
