Siena Sightseeing
After breakfast and enjoying the breathtaking countryside views in the morning, you meet your private driver and head to the picturesque city of Siena for a guided tour. During the tour around this lovely medieval city, you visit all major attractions, including the Cathedral of the Duomo which is famous for housing the works of artists like Nicola Pisano, Ghirlandaio, Ghiberti, Donatello, and Jacopo Della Quercia.
Then you head to the Piazza del Campo - a shell-shaped building that is well-known for organizing the most exciting horse races.
After the tour, you return to the farm hotel in the Tuscany region and the rest of the day is at leisure.
Tour to Pienza and Montepulciano
Meet your driver in the morning and start your trip with a visit of Pienza, the area known for the wonderful Pecorino di Pienza cheese, which gets its name from the word pecora, Italian for "sheep". You visit the rustic organic cheese farm that sits on top of a hill overlooking the entire Val d’Orcia and even Pienza itself. Here the local cheese producer shows you how the pecorino sheep cheese is made and the many stages of aging from soft and fresh to hard and complex.
Later you carry on to Montepulciano, a small village of Etruscan origin and one of the most beautiful hill towns in Tuscany. After some free time in the Montepulciano historical center you visit a traditional winery in a small farm. Here you enjoy tasting one of the most famous Italian wines: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Nobile wines of Montepulciano were the first to be given the ultimate quality level of DOCG certification.
Chianti Wine Trail
In the morning after breakfast, you meet your private driver-guide to start a full-day tour to the Chianti region which is located between Florence and Siena.
Your first stop today is an organic or biodynamic winery. Walk through the vast vineyards, explore the maze of cellars, and enjoy a tasting of Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and Supertuscan wines. One more highlight of the day is a virgin olive oil tasting and homemade lunch.
After the tour, you return to your farm hotel and the rest of the evening is free.
