Day 1
Arrival to Palermo

Welcome to the magnificent capital of Sicily, Palermo. When you arrive, your private driver meets you at the airport and then transfers you to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is at your disposal, you can relax after the long trip.

Day 2
Palermo City Tour & Optional Tour to Monreale

Meet a beautiful morning with a delicious breakfast and you meet with your private guide to set off on wonderful sightseeing of Palermo.

Sicily capital - Palermo - is a real cradle of 8-thousand years culture. In the company with your private guide, your journey starts at the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel.

Walking along Villa Bonanno you move to the Cathedral in Corso Vittorio Emanuele admiring its exterior. Then continue along Vittorio Emanuele to the majestic Four Corners. Next is the Tuscan fountain in Piazza Pretoria behind which you can see two marvelous Arabo-Norman churches, La Martorana and San Cataldo.

After the tour you return to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Palermo on your own or join our carefully planned optional tour.

Day 3
Architectural & Culinary Traditions of Segesta and Erice

After morning breakfast at your hotel, you meet your private guide-driver and set off on a day tour to the Segesta. You see the best-preserved Doric Temple, and the impressive medieval town of Erice.

Being for centuries the most important regional town and trading center, Segesta now treasures two Classical monuments which you visit: the Temple of Segesta and the Greek theatre.

Your next point of interest is Erice. This well-preserved town fascinates with its most breathtaking views and a tangible atmosphere of history. In the company of your guide, you explore the town's secrets. There are 60 churches in Erice, some dating back to the early 1300's, and two unbelievable castles, Pepoli Castle and Venus Castle. During the tour of Erice you visit the Chiesa Matrice church.

Another highlight today is the local pasticceria for a tasting of the famous cannoli, Sicilian cassata, almond delicacies and other masterpieces of local cuisine. This unique pasticceria is home for traditions and delicious sweets that made it famous all around Italy and beyond.

After the tour you return to your hotel in Palermo and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Morning at Leisure and Transfer to Agrigento

After finishing breakfast comes some time to explore Palermo on your own or join our carefully planned optional tours.

  • Optional tour: Private Cooking Class, Palermo
    Experience a morning cooking class in English to learn the secrets of preparation of the delicious local dishes. In a small group and the chef visit the Capo Marke and a restaurant, where you are guided through a demontrative cooking experience.
  • Optional tour: Palermo Street Food Tour, Palermo
    Make your time in Palermo even more memorable with a half day street food tour. Your experienced guide takes you to the local market where you feel the atmosphere of traditions and delight yourself with the tastiest Sicilian dishes.

In the afternoon your driver takes you to Agrigento* where you check-in at your hotel and have the rest of the evening at leisure.

*On the way to Agrigento you may add a stop in a town Cefalu famous for its Norman Cathedral with Byzantine mosaics. Refer to your destination specialist for more details.

Day 5
Valley of the Temples & Scala dei Turchi Cliffs

Today is dedicated to exploring famous Agrigento. After breakfast, you meet your guide and discover the city and its surroundings.

The splendid Valley of the Temples, one of two highlights of the city, is your first stop. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site where you visit the best-preserved temple in the World and one of the symbols of Sicily, Temple of Concord.

The second part of the day brings the joy of a trip to the seaside where you see the famous Scala dei Turchi Cliffs. This natural phenomenon so-called "Stairs of the Turks", looking like a staircase formed by man, rises 50 meters above sea level and allows for easy walking.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the evening at you disposal.

Villa Romana del Casale & Transfer to Taormina

Following your breakfast, in the morning you check-out and meet your private driver at the hotel lobby to travel to beautiful Taormina.

On your way, we've arranged a stop near a town Piazza Armerina to explore Sicily secret gems. Here you visit* the famous Villa Romana del Casale, a UNESCO Site, known for its rich collection of mosaics.

Upon arrival you check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy Taormina on your own.

Day Trip to Mount Etna

Have a delicious breakfast in this beautiful morning at the hotel and set off on a half day trip to Mount Etna, one of the most famous Sicily attractions, together with your guide.

Together with your driver, you go the Rifugio Sapienza on the southern hill. Located 2,000 meters (6562 feet) above sea level, this place presents a perfect opportunity to take a walk to visit the "Silvestri" craters and the latest new lava flows and craters from 2001-2003 and enjoy the desert moon atmosphere!

Visit a local winery to taste local Etna wine.

After the tour you are transferred back to Taormina hotel.

Note: Due to the weather conditions and fog, the view of Mount Etna can be limited.

Departure

This is the last day of your wonderful tour! After having breakfast, your driver meets you at the hotel lobby and takes you to Catania airport. We wish you a safe flight home and hope to work on your future vacations!

What To Know

  • You can expect to find some shops and restaurants closed from 1-4 p.m. as it is "Riposo" time, Italy’s midday siesta. Most places will be also closed on Sundays

  • In Sicily you will find some small boutiques and markets taking only cash, so make sure you change some money to Euros before leaving the country
