Day 4
Day-trip to Cinque Terre Coast

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide for an unforgettable full-day journey through the Cinque Terre, exploring its most charming villages.

Your adventure begins with a train ride from La Spezia to Monterosso, the largest of the five villages and the only one boasting a sandy beach. The town has two distinct areas: the medieval quarter, with narrow alleys known as caruggi, colorful “tower houses,” the parish church, and plenty of shops and restaurants; and the newer Fegina district, located near the train station and beach.

Next, take a short train ride to Vernazza, widely considered the most picturesque of the Cinque Terre thanks to its amphitheater-shaped harbor. Once a Roman settlement, Vernazza held significant strategic importance during the era of the Maritime Republics of Genoa and was well known for its skilled carpenters. Here, enjoy some free time for a light lunch.

Continue your journey by boat to the final stop—Manarola, the oldest village in the Cinque Terre, surrounded by terraced vineyards. Visit notable landmarks, including the Church of San Lorenzo, dating back to 1338, before returning by train to La Spezia.

Upon arrival, the evening is yours to spend at leisure:

  • Note: Ferry services between villages operate from April 20 to November 1, weather permitting. If conditions are unsuitable, travel will be entirely by train.
