Sightseeing in Venice

Set off to explore the most wondrous corners of Venice, as well as world-known landmarks, during a walking city tour with a local professional guide.

The itinerary includes an abundance of iconic sights, such as St. Mark's Basilica, where you get to admire the marvelous Pala D'Oro altar and climb to the Loggia dei Cavalli for some awe-inspiring views over the St. Mark's Square. After that, you make your way to the Doge's Palace nearby, cross the renowned Bridge of Sighs, and explore the prisons and opulent chambers of the palace.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free or enjoy an optional gondola ride.

Day at Leisure in Venice & Train to Florence

Today you have the first half of the day free to enjoy the wonders of Venice on your own or get some rest before upcoming travel.

    Enjoy a tranquil trip through the Venetian lagoon to the exceptional colorful fishing village on Burano Island, famous for the production of lace, and make your way later to Murano, well-known for its glass blowing traditions.

In the afternoon, you hop onboard a private water-taxi for a transfer to the train station and board a train heading towards Florence. You reach your destination in about two hours, where you are met by your guide and driver and taken to the hotel for check-in.

In the evening, you have time for independent sightseeing, discovering the lively cultural scene in Florence or unwinding at your hotel.

Day 4
Florence Sightseeing

Set off to explore the most iconic landmarks in Florence while on a 3-hour walking tour with a professional private guide. 

Today you pay a visit to the renowned Piazza del Duomo, as well as the Baptistery dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Make sure to make the most out of your ticket to the Grande Museo del Duomo, which allows you to visit not only the Cathedral itself but numerous other monuments of Piazza del Duomo during your free time as well. The ticket is valid for 72 hours and provides entrance to the famous Dome, the Bell Tower, and the Cathedral Museum, boasting works by Michelangelo and Donatello. 

Make your way to marvel at Piazza della Signoria, the main square of the city, while walking along several attention-worthy sights, such as Piazza della Repubblica and the Strozzi Palace. You also don't want to miss the chance to wander along one of the most beautiful streets in Verona, the nearby Via Tornabuoni.

Cross the Arno River on Ponte Vecchio and continue your tour to the Oltrarno district, filled with not only monuments but authentic crafts to admire as well. Visit the shops of local craftsmen to get acquainted with their art forms before moving on to marvel at the Santo Spirito Church and Convent, built for the Augustinians. 

Talking about art, this is the part of the city, where you can find the early works of 17-year-old Michelangelo. You also have the chance to witness his talent at Galleria dell'Accademia, where the tour takes you to marvel at his iconic colossal statue of David.

San Gimignano & Siena Sightseeing

Set off to explore to of the most picturesque gems of the Tuscany Region, San Gimignano and Siena.

You start your day with a private transfer to the first destination - the medieval hill town of San Gimignano. Upon arrival, you have some time to explore the charming town on your own and marvel at its authentic churches, such as the churches of Collegiata and Sant'Agostino, as well as several picturesque Piazzas. In addition to that, the town also boasts 14 well-preserved medieval towers that gave San Gimignano its unofficial name of the Town of Towers.

Continue your tour later to one of the most picturesque medieval cities in Italy, Siena. Together with a local professional guide, you explore the major attractions in the city, such as the Cathedral of the Duomo, housing the works of Donatello, Ghirlandaio, Jacopo della Quercia, Nicola Pisano, and Ghiberti. You also pay a visit to the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, which is often used for horse racing.

After touring the lovely Italian destinations, you arrive at Castiglione d'Orcia, check in at the hotel, and have the rest of the evening free to unwind after an exciting day.

Tour of a Cheese Farm in Pienza & Montepulciano Winery

Start another day of your exciting Italian adventure with a visit to a Pecorino cheese farm. After breakfast at the hotel, meet your driver and guide and make your way to Pienza, famous for its Pecorino di Pienza cheese. Deriving from the word pecora, meaning "sheep", the local delicacy is made of sheep's milk exclusively in and around the town of Pienza.

Once in Pienza, you visit an authentic organic cheese farm, situated on top of a hill overlooking the city and the picture-perfect Val d'Orcia. You have the chance to not only marvel at the views but get acquainted with the subtleties of making and aging the mouth-watering local delicacy. Needless to say, the tour at the farm is followed by a cheese tasting.

Continue later to one of the most beautiful hill towns in the region of Tuscany, Montepulciano. Set off to explore its authentic sights while on a guided tour of its historic center, enjoy a nice lunch, and a visit to a traditional winery. Prepare yourself for a trip to the Eternal City, Rome! After breakfast in your Castiglione d'Orcia hotel, you check out and then you are transferred to the railway station. In about 1.5 hour you arrive at the bustling Italian capital. Your driver meets you and takes you to your central hotel where your private guide is waiting for you. Together you set off on a tour to explore the famous hallmarks of the Eternal City.

Discovering Ancient Rome

Meet the morning with a delightful breakfast and then meet your guide to explore the famous Eternal City on a walking tour. Situated on low ground between the Palatine and Capitoline hills, the iconic Roman Forum is your first stop. Built around the 3rd century A.D., the landmark served as the center of politics and rituals.

Today you behold the historical remnants of ancient Rome such as the Temple of Caesar and the Arch of Septimius Severus, as well as the neighboring site of the city’s first settlements, Palatine Hill.

Of course, the legendary Colosseum, the symbol of Rome. The biggest building of its kind in the Roman Emire and an arena for gladiators' fights is your next travel point. Basically known as Flavius amphitheater, it could hold up to 70 thousand spectators.

After the tour, your guide takes you back to the hotel and you have the evening at leisure.

Vatican Sightseeing

Following breakfast, your guide meets you and walks you to the world’s smallest independent state, Vatican*. In the Vatican, you visit private apartments of Julius II, Pinecone Courtyard, Gallery of the Maps, Gallery of the Tapestries, and Gallery of Candelabra.

The Sistine Chapel is your next stop, where you admire Michelangelo's famous frescoes and learn about the history behind them.

Enjoy a short coffee break and continue your journey to St. Peter’s Basilica with a fascinating Pieta, a famous work of Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo, and Bernini's impressive Papal Canopy, the Barberini family legacy left to the Basilica.

Your tour ends in St. Peter’s Square, where Michelangelo's Dome is located, as well as the architectural wonders of Bernini.

After the tour of the Vatican, you enjoy a free walk to the hotel together with your guide having a photo stop at the legendary Castel Sant'Angelo, which in due times served as a mausoleum, a fortress, refuge and a prison.

Once the tour is finished, you have the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the beauty of Rome on your own.

  • You can expect to find some shops and restaurants closed from 1-4 p.m. as it is "Riposo" time, Italy's midday siesta. Most places will be also closed on Sundays
